    USAG HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Far East District commemorated the completion of project C4I080 (Command Center Humphreys), with an Acceptance Release Letter (ARL) ceremony at USAG Humphreys, Republic of Korea, April 14.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District worked with the Alaska Army National Guard, state and local community to divest this facility in Koyukuk, Alaska. Real estate specialists researched information about the building from 1983 to properly terminate the leases and transfer ownership of the property to the local village.

    National Guard armories find new purpose on Last Frontier

    Across the vast state of Alaska, small parcels of federal land host buildings used by the Alaska Army National Guard after World War II and during the Cold War. Now that these properties are no longer needed by the military, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District is working to transfer the land and associated improvements to local communities, which in many instances are native villages in critical need of additional housing and community facilities.

    HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (April 14, 2022)— Students from Lipscomb University toured the Old Hickory Power Plant to complete an American Society of Civil Engineers' Infrastructure Report Card as part of their assignment for this semester.
  • The West Tennessee River Basin Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District recently held a Feasibility Cost Sharing Agreement Signing Ceremony to initiate a cost-shared feasibility study. The study aims to identify and evaluate alternatives and the preparation of a decision document that, as appropriate, recommends a coordinated and implementable solution for restoring aquatic and floodplain habitat along a 20-mile corridor from Reelfoot Lake and Lake Isom National Wildlife Refuge to the Obion River.     NOTICE OF PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District (USACE) and the West Tennessee River Basin Authority (WTRBA) will host a general scoping meeting to solicit comments and information from the public regarding the Running Reelfoot Bayou, TN feasibility study. The study investigates National Ecosystem Restoration benefits related to restoring aquatic and floodplain habitat along the Running Reelfoot Bayou in Lake, Obion, and Dyer Counties, Tennessee. The meeting will be held on Thursday April 21, 2022, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Lake County Circuit Court in Tiptonville, TN.

Volunteers are an essential part of delivering the district’s recreational activities.
