    Geologist improves field for future professionals

    With the help of advocacy from Dave Becker, a geologist with Huntsville Center's Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise, Nebraska legislature passed a bill that created licensing and registration along with the requirements to receive professional geologist certification.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, 55th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, signed the Chief’s Report April 18, 2024, for the Ponte Vedra Beach Coastal Storm Risk Management Study Report in a ceremony at USACE Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

    USACE marks 100 days of debris removal in Lahaina

    April 25 marked the 100th day of Lahaina debris removal for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the wake of the August 2023 wildfires that claimed more than 100 lives, displaced more than 6,000 families and caused around $5.5 billion in property damage on the Hawaiian Island of Maui.

    Breaking ground: U.S. Army Corps and Port of Virginia Spearhead Major Atlantic Ocean Channel Deepening

    Armed with shovels in hand, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Norfolk District along with its partners, Virginia Port Authority and City of Virginia Beach broke ground during a ceremony for the commencement of the Atlantic Ocean Channel Phase II on Thursday, April 25, celebrating the commencement of construction for the final Norfolk Harbor Deepening contract along with the upcoming beach nourishment projects at Resort and Croatan Beaches in Virginia Beach.
