    Employee Spotlight: Work for Others Technical Manager Jordan Bledsoe

    “My grandfather had always said, ‘Get a job with the Corps’. That wasn’t always the goal, but funny to see how it worked out,” Jordan Bledsoe said. Bledsoe’s grandfather knew what he was talking about too, because he “actually built some of the levees in the St. Francis Basin, ultimately leading to the Huxtable Pumping Station.” Jordan Bledsoe didn’t know it at the time, but his grandfather had planted the seed that would eventually lead to his becoming the Engineering and Construction’s Work for Others (WFO) Technical Manager that he is today.

  • Army Civil Works announces publication of policy initiatives to modernize the Corps’ Civil Works program

    The Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works announced a series of priority policy initiatives to modernize the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Civil Works program. An outreach campaign, with public and tribal virtual meetings, will be conducted in June and July to gather input to inform future potential policy decision-making related to a number of related initiatives, and written comments will be gathered in a public docket in the Federal Register over a 60-day comment period.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been Building Strong across the Middle East for nearly 70 years, partnering with allied nations to build civil and defense infrastructure in a dynamic, challenging construction environment. These partnerships and the projects they execute are not just necessary for our success - but also for the success of our nation’s global priorities and our allied mission partners’ continued security and stability. The State of Qatar, one of our allied partners, is moving full speed ahead to make that a reality with its own Corps of Engineers nested within the Qatari Land Forces.
