    When days become longer and temperatures get warmer in the interior region of the state near Fairbanks, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District uses snow survey data to forecast potential flood conditions on the Chena River during the spring breakup season.

    Marina@Rowena celebrates Clean Marina Award

    ALBANY, Ky. (May 19, 2022)— The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District has awarded Marina@Rowena the Clean Marina Award for 2022. During an award ceremony held at the Marina@Rowena, May 17, 2022, Nashville District Operations Manager Michael Lapina presented the Clean Marina flag to Marina@Rowena General Manager David Dyson, which was hoisted at the main peer during the ceremony.
  • The Tom Bevill Lock and Dam near Alliceville, Alabama, is one of 10 lock and dam structures on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to receive retrofit and replacement of lighting systems from Huntsville Center’s Energy Savings Performance Contract program.

    Energy program saves money, resources for USACE districts

    Huntsville Center’s Energy Savings Performance Contract program has been reducing energy use and water consumption at military installations since the mid-1990s. Over the last several years, the ESPC has also developed contracts to support U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works programs around the country.

    Honoring over 35 years of service

    On Friday, May 6, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Corey Hill was honored with a retirement ceremony at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Construction Engineer Research Laboratory (CERL). Friends, family and co-workers were in attendance to celebrate his 35 years of military service.

    Transatlantic Middle East District Legal Staff Continues to Raise the Bar

    Multiple staff members recently received national recognition for their work representing the interests of the U.S. government in a variety of significant legal matters. During the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Senior Legal Managers Governance and Continuing Legal Education meeting, the USACE Office of Chief Counsel announced the winners of its annual awards. District office of counsel staff members Regina Schowalter, Lindsay Nicodemus, and Kathryn Morris were all recognized.
