    Milt Brandt Visitor Center reopens May 20th

    Geyserville, CA. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Sonoma is pleased to announce the re-opening of the Milt Brandt Visitor Center to the public on Friday, May 20th. The Don Clausen Fish Hatchery and viewing bridge will remain closed until further notice.
  • The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center has chosen Dr. Jerrell “Jerry” Ballard Jr. as the new director of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP). With 33 years of experience at the ERDC, Ballard will be leading the HPCMP, which leverages emerging state-of-the-art technologies, to support Department of Defense services and agencies to meet their mission-critical objectives.

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) has chosen Dr. Jerrell “Jerry” Ballard Jr. as the new director of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP).     Nine dams and a thousandth of an inch

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Chicago District operates nine dams along the Lower Fox River as it flows from Lake Winnebago to Lake Michigan. Balancing the needs of all the stakeholders along the river as well as four privately owned dams the Corps of Engineers can still manage to control the level of Lake Winnebago to a thousandth of an inch.
  • Scientific Name: Bubo bubo Life Span: 20 years Diet: Small mammals, amphibians, insects, and birds Size: 3 feet Wingspan: 4 feet A top predator in the local food chain, they inhabit forested areas across South Korea. Owls can be seen on USAG Humphreys resting in trees. Mostly nocturnal, owls spend their active time hunting at night. The Eurasian eagle owl is one of the world’s largest owl species.     U.S. military Natural Resources Management program protects species in South Korea

    Part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mission is to advocate for the health of the planet through programs and initiatives in climate change resilience, sustainability, and environmental justice. The Far East District environmental efforts are actively engaged in the Natural Resources Management program, to help protect certain flora and fauna in the local area.
