    Los Angeles District commander Col. The meeting provided additional information on the proposed AngelFest event, a three-day music and arts festival in Sepulveda Basin, and allowed the public to submit written comments and allowed the district commander to actively listen to anyone wishing to make an oral comment on the proposed action.

    Army Corps and City of Los Angeles hold public meeting for AngelFest draft Environmental Assessment

    LOS ANGELES – The City of Los Angeles and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District hosted a public meeting in the Balboa Sports Center, in Encino, California, May 10. The meeting provided additional information on the proposed AngelFest event, a three-day music and arts festival in Sepulveda Basin to be held in October 2017.

    Yuba River preservation group shares experience with Corps

    Members of the Sacramento District’s Yuba River Ecosystem Restoration Study team toured the ecosystem restoration project at Hammon Bar with leaders of the South Yuba River Citizens League on May 5. SYRCL and their partners replanted riparian growth on Hammon Bar in an effort to provide habitat for fish and other wildlife.

Robert Ruch commanded Huntsville Center, and in those years Ruch said he believes his legacy has been explaining Huntsville Center’s capabilities to other USACE districts and divisions. Huntsville Center executes more than 6,000 contract actions valued at more than $2 billion annually.

    Ruch looks back on 30 year career

    In three decades of Army service, Bob Ruch has served with four engineer battalions and a division, training Soldiers at the Army’s premiere training center, was staff officer for NATO, and commanded two U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Districts (Philadelphia and Omaha). Most recently he has commanded the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville.
