    Jacksonville District conducts second semi-annual St. Augustine Back Bay CSRM Feasibility Study community workshop

    (ST AUGUSTINE, Fla.) - As an element of its ongoing public outreach efforts, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, hosted more than 40 St. Augustine residents to the city’s Willie Galimore Community Center April 24, for a semi-annual workshop to discuss its ongoing St. Augustine Back Bay Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District held their annual Administrative Professionals Day luncheon before a packed audience on April 30, at the City Club in Fort Worth. This year, leaders across the district nominated 11 well-deserving administrative professionals for the title of the Fort Worth District’s Administrative Professional of the Year. Col. Calvin Kroeger, commander of the Fort Worth District, presents a crystal castle to this years’ winner, Ms. Lynn Chapman. Chapman has worked for the district for over 19 years, supporting eight different commanders. She is known throughout the district as being wise, fair, and fastidious towards any documents that would see the commander’s eyes.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District held their annual Administrative Professionals Day luncheon before a packed audience on April 30, at the City Club in Fort Worth. Administrative professionals are the backbone of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District, providing essential support and ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks. From managing budgets and coordinating schedules to handling correspondence and organizing files, these professionals play a crucial role in keeping the district running efficiently.

    Striking a chord: District review appraiser and musician on being part of something bigger than himself

    The success of an organization often depends on having an effective support staff. An organization with a mission set as large and varied as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires many support offices and positions. Among these many critical support positions at the Kansas City District is David Capell, district review appraiser. A team of one, Capell is the Kansas City District’s sole review appraiser responsible for appraising and reviewing appraisals of all district property. If it sounds like an important job, that’s because it is. With an area of responsibility spanning five states, the Kansas City District has a robust civil works and military mission, which require a lot of real estate. Before a project can be completed, there is almost always some sort of real estate action and many of these actions require an appraisal or review of one.
