    Water Safety this 4th of July

    Arkansas Senator John Boozman and Congressman Bruce Westerman took time out of their schedule to talk about water safety with Little Rock District Commander, Colonel Eric Noe. Topics discussed were drinking alcohol while boating and wearing your life jacket when you are in or near the water. There have been seven drownings this year in the Little Rock District. When you are enjoying the great outdoors over the July 4th holiday please be safe….We would like for you to spend many more holidays with us.

    Members of the Lake Lanier Water Safety Task Force met today to discuss emergency services, rescue support, and patrol duties during the upcoming 4th of July weekend.
  • Elizabeth Godsey, Engineering Lead for Coastal Engineering and Regional Sediment Management, was named the recipient of the USACE 2022 Hydrology, Hydraulics and Coastal Community of Practice (HH&C CoP) Professional of the Year Award in Mobile, Alabama on June 28, 2022. Godsey was the first Coastal Engineer or Practitioner in USACE to receive the award.

    First Lieutenant Anne Schreiner, a contracting officer’s representative with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New York District, knew early on she wanted to be an engineer.
  • Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators participated in the TWRA Operation Dry Water press day to inform the public of heightened TWRA and Coast Guard presence on Tennessee water ways over the July 4th weekend. The press conference was held at J. Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, Tennessee.

    TWRA kicks off Operation Dry Water for July 4th Holiday Weekend

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 1, 2022) – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency held a press day at J. Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, Tennessee to spread the word about Operation Dry Water, before the upcoming 4th of July weekend. ODW, a national awareness and enforcement campaign focused on reducing the number of alcohol and drug-related incidents and fatalities on the water, will take place from July 2 to July 4. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District hosted the event at Priest Lake.
