    SWG holds FY22 4th Qtr awards ceremony

    District Commander Col. Rhett A. Blackmon and Deputy District Engineer Byron Williams recognized more than 100 “Champions of the Texas Coast” during the Fiscal Year 2022 Fourth Quarter Awards Ceremony, held September 29, 2022, at the Jadwin Building and virtually via WebEx.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District held a townhall meeting, September 29, to address many of the trending topics within the District during the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2022.
  • Every year, Savannah District foresters allows a select contractor access to gather the berries. Prior to each season, the Directorate of Public Works Forestry Department at Fort Stewart identifies areas to be harvested and seeks the required environmental approval. Savannah District real estate foresters then oversees the operation by selling the available berries to the highest bidder. In a typical year, the Corps earns anywhere between $50,000 to $80,000 but this year was an especially good crop and earned more than $105,000, sold at the rate of $1.20 per pound.

    Nashville District names Phillips Employee of the Month for July 2022

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 29, 2022) – Kyle Phillips, civil engineer in the Engineering & Construction Division’s Construction Branch at Chickamauga Lock Resident Office, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for July 2022. He is recognized primarily for his dedication to mentoring new staff and Quality Control personnel to keep activity at Chickamauga Lock moving forward.

    FED intern spotlight: Lauren Wougk

    Lauren Wougk began her career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as a student employee with the Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM) in the summer of 2019. Wougk was later hired as a Department of Army (DA) intern in October 2021, when she acquired her master’s degree in civil engineering at Rutgers University.
