    HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (May 4, 2022) — Third grade science, technology, engineering, arts and math students from Union Elementary, Sumner County magnet school, participated in Environmental Awareness Day at Old Hickory Dam.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at John W. Flannagan Lake is committed to keeping the lake clean and safe year round. Our maintenance staff tirelessly tackled the major task of removing debris from the lake while the water levels continue to rise and fall.

    Park Ranger’s, Justine Smith and Alice Hall, hosted an interpretive nature hike with 140 Kindergartener’s from Russell Independent Schools. Children learned the importance of environmental stewardship through ‘Leave No Trace for Every Kid’ Principles.
  • USACE Army Fellows Program in Europe offers unique international opportunities for recent grads and early career engineers

    Learn more about the the Army Fellows Program in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District (which was previously known as the Department of Army Intern Program in years past). It allows recent graduates and early career engineers the opportunity to work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers while rotating throughout the various offices and branches that support the District’s programs and missions through a two-year program.
