    ERDC engineer improves Department of State protective shelter patent

    U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Geotechnical and Structure Laboratory (GSL) Research Civil Engineer Justin Roberts recently made improvements to a previous patent that will enhance protective shelters leveraged by the Department of State (DOS).
  • MacAllister honored for vital research in Czech Republic

    Dr. Irene MacAllister, a research chemist with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), has been awarded the Czech Republic’s University of Defence Medal honoring her “for the immense contribution she has made to the research effort in protection against high-risk biological agents.” She received the award upon recent completion of her assignment with the U.S. Army Engineer and Scientist Exchange Program (ESEP) to the Czech Republic.
  • District working to combat COVID spike

    Galveston District Commander Col. Tim Vail held a town hall August 2 with the entire workforce, to discuss new COVID-19 mitigations in light of the newest COVID-19 strain -- the Delta variant. Vail recommended the District workforce continue following all current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Department of Defense (DoD) installation requirements on COVID-19 prevention.

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, New Hampshire, celebrated Engineer Day July 15.
  • Army Lean Six Sigma Non-Gated Project Team Award

    Congratulations to the Huntington District, which received national honors on July 29 with an Army Lean Six Sigma Non-Gated Project Team Award for the outstanding Non-Gated project: "Improve Project Delivery Data Analytics." The recognition and reward are key components of a successful Business Process Improvement (BPI) strategy. The intent is to recognize Army organizations and practitioners who demonstrate excellence in development, sustainment, and employment of BPI capabilities in support of the enterprise approach to institutional adoption.
