    Nashville District honors its newest distinguished civilians

    RIDGETOP, Tenn. (June 7, 2019) – Three Nashville District retirees received the Distinguished Civilian Employee Recognition Award today during the Engineer Day Picnic at Smiley Hollow, bringing the total of people recognized for distinguished careers to 99 since 1922.
  • Norfolk District awards $40 million aviation maintenance training facility contract

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced a $40 million contract awarded yesterday to Virginia-based S.B. Ballard Construction Company to build an aviation maintenance training facility on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
  • MVM 2028 Initiatives: District team working to prevent electrical accidents

    With its 2028 Initiatives, the Memphis District is identifying and aggressively pursuing a range of innovative measures to equip it with the tools, training, and resources that enable it to deliver increasing value to the region and nation. One such initiative is its new Arc Flash Evaluation Project. The District has trained and resourced a team of arc flash analysis experts with the goal preventing electrical accidents at Corps facilities and sites.
  • Burnsville Lake Participates in National Park Day Clean Up

    Burnsville Lake, Bulltown Historic Area participated in the National Park Day Clean Up for the second year in a row! On the weekend of May 10th -12th local Boy Scout Troop 135 of Gassaway could be found camping at the Bulltown Historic Area and Battlefield. Ranger Lisa Hess with the Burnsville Lake US Army Corps of Engineers, coordinated the 2nd Annual National Park Day Clean Up at the Bulltown Historic Area, sponsored by the American Battlefield Trust. The scouts were invited to come and participate in the National Park Day event on May 11th and camp on the battlefield for the weekend. Although the troop is known for their camping and other outdoor activities, they are also involved with service work to their community and fellow man.
