    Corps’ representatives spread love of engineering to Pasadena high school students on Valentine’s Day

    Some people spread their love on Valentine’s Day with cards, flowers and candy. Three representatives with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District spread a different kind of love Feb. 14 – a love of engineering.

    Community members can learn more about this Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) and hear the latest cleanup progress during the project’s quarterly Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting held at the Suffolk Chesapeake Courtyard Marriott, 8060 Harbour View Blvd., in Suffolk on Thursday, March 1st, from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m.

    Command Strategic Review strengthens communication, sets path forward

    The Command Strategic Review working session is a collaborative event between HQ USACE, Campaign Plan (UCP) Objective/Action Champions and the major subordinate command (MSC) counterparts to ensure alignment with the UCP and review progress of specific current year priority actions. Huntsville Center’s last CSR was in 2015.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Natural Resources Program Manager Amy Cobb-Williams works with a child at the University of South Alabama Children’s & Women’s Hospital, Feb. 20, to construct a bridge out of Popsicle sticks. The event was part of the district’s National Engineers Week outreach program to teach school-age children the importance of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, stopped by the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Mobile, Ala., Feb. 20, as part of the district’s National Engineers Week outreach activities. During the visit, district personnel helped the children construct Popsicle-stick bridges, taught them about the importance of learning science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), and handed out Mardi Gras beads and coloring books.
