    Nashville District celebrates Earth Day

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 23, 2016) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District educated members of the public today about clean power, sustainability, water quality and environmental stewardship.

    Army Corps of Engineers: Restoring the Environment, Increasing Resiliency

    As commander of the Jacksonville District's 780-member team of professionals, I want to share information about our efforts to restore the environment and to help our nation face the challenges posed by rising sea levels.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District was a participant at the 2015 Lake Tahoe Summit on Aug. 24, 2015, hosting an informational booth and taking a boat tour to learn more about aquatic invasive species. The annual event is open to the public and rotates between California and Nevada. This year’s summit was at the Round Hill Pines Resort Beach and Marina, Nevada. As the nation’s environmental engineers, the Corps is tasked with restoring degraded ecosystems, constructing sustainable facilities, regulating waterways, managing natural resources and cleaning up contaminated sites from past military activities.

    Corps a leading federal ecosystem restoration agency in Lake Tahoe Basin

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is one of the leading federal ecosystem restoration agencies in the Lake Tahoe Basin and has worked with local, state and other federal partners since 1997 to preserve the lake’s prized clarity by restoring natural inflows and controlling invasive species. Corps involvement in the Lake Tahoe Basin is shaped by two programs -- the Tahoe Partnership and the Tahoe Section 108 programs.
