    Arlington National Cemetery dedicates columbarium

    Arlington National Cemetery will dedicate its ninth columbarium court here today. Officials will mark the dedication of Columbarium Court No. 9 with a joint, full-honors committal service for six unclaimed remains of veterans from all branches of military.
  • Bob Sneed, chief of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Water Management Section gives students from the Heritage Elementary School a presentation on how water works on the Cumberland River May 2, 2013. Sneed designed his presentation to follow an animated drop of water from rainfall from the school as it ventures into the river, passing through dams, locks and eventually flowing down the Cumberland River into the Ohio River and then the Mississippi River.

    WHITEHOUSE, Tenn. (May 8, 2013) – Students and teachers from the Heritage Elementary School recently had a chance to learn about the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ water works.

    This week, local, state, tribal and federal officials conducted a series of prescribed burns of “wet meadows” on public property along Leech Lake and Boy rivers, near the City of Federal Dam, Minn.
  • KINGMAN, Ariz. - Workers excavate soil around a home Apr. 19 during cleanup work being done by the US Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District at a Formerly Used Defense Site just outside Kingman, Ariz. The work being done by the District and its contractor, Eco & Associates, is part of the Time Critical Removal Action for the former Skeet Range, which is referred to as Munitions Response Site 03 of the former Kingman Ground-to-Ground Gunnery Range.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District team is moving along with its clean-up work at the Formerly Used Defense Site just outside of Kingman, Ariz. which began Apr. 15. The work being done by the district and its contractor is part of the time-critical removal action for the site, which is referred to as Munitions Response Site 03 of the former Kingman Ground-to-Ground Gunnery Range. The site was used as a skeet range for military training during World War II.
