    ERDC Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) engineers recently made significant contributions to the U.S. Arctic Research Commission report, “Oil Spills in Arctic Waters: An Introduction and Inventory of Research Activities and USARC Recommendations.”
  • Army Corps of Engineers continues ecosystem restoration work in Soundview Park

    Thirty years ago, Elbin Mena was repairing a hole on his father's roof in Harding Park, Bronx, New York City. "I looked out at neighboring Soundview Park. It was filled with abandoned cars and burnt out shacks and I said to myself - 'Boy, this park could look beautiful if given some money and attention,'" said Mena.
  • District unveils display that recognizes employee professional development and personal achievement

    District Commander Col. Mark Toy unveiled two display boards Dec. 13 in the 12th floor conference room here. One that features professional registrations and certifications and one for individual and organizational awards and recognition.
  • San Francisco Dive Team goes overboard

    The San Francisco dive team performed underwater maintenance on the Raccoon, a district debris collection vessel, in Sausalito on Dec. 13. The four man team inspected and replaced zinc anodes attached to the bottom of the boat.
  • Survey crews to start work on Tangier Jetty

    Physical work on the feasibility phase of the Tangier Jetty program is set to begin this week, weather dependant. A Norfolk District survey crew will operate in the water where the jetty is to be built at the federal navigation channel entranceway on the western side of the island.
