The award was given to Sally for all the work she did supporting families across the Army – specifically the men and women assigned to the Transatlantic Division during the command of her spouse, Col.     Becks both receive awards before departing the Transatlantic Division

    Transatlantic Division Commander Col. (P) Chris Beck and his wife Sally were both presented with awards prior to their departure from the Division during a ceremony June 16, 2020, at TAD’s Headquarters in Winchester, Virginia, held in conjunction with a formal ceremony where Beck relinquished command of TAD.

    Memphis Revetment Season in full swing

    The Memphis District Revetment season officially began this year on June 11, with District Commander Col. Zachary Miller hosting a kickoff meeting at the Ensley Engineer Yard to get things started. “Protecting the Mississippi River banks keeps the channel in place, which maintains the necessary depth and alignment that allows the thousands of tows to travel up and down the river year round,” the commander said. “Without this work, the river would shift resulting in new, shallow cutoffs that could not be safely traveled.”

    Today marks 245 years of the Army’s legacy of service to the nation. June 14 is also Flag Day and provides an opportunity to showcase patriotism and the shared Army values of love of country and oaths to defend the American way of life.
  • Yazoo Seepage Remediation Project

    Yazoo Levee Seepage Remediation PDT awards contract

    Congratulations to the Yazoo Levee Seepage Remediation PDT for reaching their contract award milestone. They recently awarded the contract to sure-up the integrity of the levee in Commerce, Miss. to the Syte Corporation. The contract work consist of installing 30 relief wells and extending the seepage berm 2,700 feet. The seepage berm extension and relief well installations will help reduce water seepage under the levee which could weaken the integrity of the levee and the overall flood protection system.
