    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will hold its 2015 FNOD quarterly restoration advisory board meeting March 25, 6-8 p.m., at the Courtyard Marriott, located at 8060 Harbour View Boulevard, Suffolk, Virginia.

    Community members can learn more about restoration efforts at the Former Nansemond Ordnance Depot (FNOD) and hear the latest cleanup progress during a quarterly Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting scheduled for 6:15 to 8 p.m. March 2.

Joly, commander, recognizes the Center engineers who have continued to grow in their field by earning a license or certification.     Huntsville Center celebrates Engineers Week

    The U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville joined other U.S. Army Corps of Engineers agencies Feb. 19 to 25 to celebrate 2023 National Engineers Week.
  • More than 70,000 cubic yards of earth materials have been reused in multiple ways in construction of the Louisville VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

    Re-used materials add value to construction project

    Since the beginning of construction of the Louisville VA Medical Center in December 2021, the site has seen a lot of change and one of the most noticeable early changes was it going from a 35-acre grassy field to much of the earth materials being collected and sorted in large piles on the south side of the property. What some may think of as waste materials - the expected leftovers from earthwork, isn’t going to waste. In fact, more than 70,000 cubic yards of material have been reused in multiple ways in construction on the site.

    ASA for Civil Works Visits New York District

    The Honorable Michael L. Connor, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Civil Works), visited the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), New York District, Feb. 13-14. Connor serves as the principal advisor to the Secretary of the Army on all matters related to the Army’s Civil Works Program. During the visit the Connor was able to meet with district leadership, project managers and tour several ongoing projects that New York District oversees.
