The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division serves as USACE’s tip of the spear in one of the most dynamic construction environments in the world, STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS, BUILDING CAPACITY, and ENHANCING SECURITY for our nation, allies, and partners. 

We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    ITL's Welch elected to steering committee of NanoTechnology for Defense Conference

    ERDC Information Technology Laboratory's (ITL) Dr. Charles R. "Bob" Welch has been elected to the steering committee of the 10th Annual NanoTechnology for Defense Conference (NT4D) to be held in Summerlin, Nev., Aug. 6–10.
  • Agents and guests celebrate the ribbon cutting at the new Border Patrol Station in San Clemente. Up to 200 officers will be assigned to the 14,000 square foot station that includes 24 offices, a conference room, a muster room and a gymnasium.

    Border Patrol dedicates new facility in San Clemente

    SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — Following a 12-month, $6.3 million construction project, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officially opened its new administration building at San Clemente Border Patrol Station with a Feb. 10 ribbon cutting ceremony.
  • WIESBADEN, Germany — George VanCook, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District civil engineer, gives VIPs a tour of the new 285,000-sq.-foot, environmentally sustainable mission command center, being built on U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden by USACE.

    Teamwork yields on-time, on-budget USACE project delivery

    Building the new mission command center on the Wiesbaden Army Airfield was an exercise in complex construction and teambuilding for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District and its partners. The completion of the 285,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable MCC was accomplished on time and on budget by a project delivery team with common goals and a shared vision.

  • Douglass Post Named American Society of Naval Engineers Gold Medal Awardee for 2011

    Dr. Douglass Post, Chief Scientist for the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP), has been awarded the 2011 Gold Medal by the American Society of Naval Engineers for his leadership and vision in establishing and realizing the Computational Research and Engineering Tools and Environments (CREATE) Program.
