The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division serves as USACE’s tip of the spear in one of the most dynamic construction environments in the world, STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS, BUILDING CAPACITY, and ENHANCING SECURITY for our nation, allies, and partners. 

We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    EL engineer appointed to board, Journal of Soils and Sediments

    ERDC Environmental Laboratory's (EL) Dr. Trudy Estes, a research civil engineer, was recently appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Soils and Sediments and will serve a three-year term as a subject editor for "Section 5: Sediment Management.

  • Corps, Six Counties plan for water resources issues

    LOS ANGELES – Representatives from six Southern California flood control districts met Feb. 16 with officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to discuss topics related to flood channel and levee maintenance, environmental permitting, civil works programming and Southern California water conservation strategies.

    GALVESTON, Texas (Feb. 17, 2012) - On any given day, ships carrying cargo from Mexico to China pull into one of the 28 ports along the Texas coast to deliver imported goods ranging from coffee to cars – a maritime industry that generates $135 billion in economic value to the state and creates nearly one million jobs.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Middle East District hosted a post award conference for contractors Jan. 25.
  • WABASHA, Minn. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District employees Al VanGuilder, left, survey technician, and Bill Chelmowski, marine machinery mechanic, use an airboat to measure ice on Lake Pepin, near Wabasha, Minn., Feb. 13, during the first Mississippi River ice surveys of the year. The district conducts the annual ice surveys to help the navigation industry determine when it is safe to break through the ice. Lake Pepin, located on the Mississippi River between Red Wing and Wabasha, Minn., is used as the benchmark because the ice melts slower in this area due to the lake width and the slower current.
