    Hands On Nashville, Cummins partnership renovate Smith Springs Park

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 20, 2011) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partnered with Hands On Nashville and Cummins, Inc. to refurbish the picnic area here today at Smith Springs Park at J. Percy Priest Dam.
  • Seventeen employees from every district within the South Pacific Division as well as personnel from South Pacific Division proper, graduated Sep.15 from the year-long Regional Leadership Development Program III which is aimed at developing leaders who accomplish missions and continuously improve teams within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

    SAN FRANCISCO-- Purpose, direction and motivation- most crave it, but how do most get it? Some glean it from the “School of Hard Knocks,” others from a life-changing event. Some garner it from a deep personal reserve and others from divine inspiration. For members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, purpose, direction and motivation was honed through participation in the South Pacific Division’s Regional Leadership Development Program, also known as RLDP III.

  • Nearly 600 volunteers ‘pitch in’ at 22nd Annual Lake Cumberland Clean-up

    SOMERSET, Ky. (Sept. 17, 2011) – Cooler temperatures welcomed volunteers to yet another successful National Public Lands Day event here along the shores of Lake Cumberland. The Friends of Lake Cumberland, in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District, held the 22nd annual lake-wide cleanup, and the results were terrific.
