The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division serves as USACE’s tip of the spear in one of the most dynamic construction environments in the world, STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS, BUILDING CAPACITY, and ENHANCING SECURITY for our nation, allies, and partners. 

We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    Paper on Reactive Porcelain Enamel Coating Research Accepted by Journal

    Researchers with ERDC’s Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) and Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) were recently notified that their paper on reactive porcelain enamel coating had been accepted for the Journal of Construction and Building Materials.
  • Col. Craig Cutter, Deputy Commander, 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, looks over the Soldiers Creed in the stairwell of Daegu High School. The creed was originally painted on the wall by soldiers when the building was used as a barracks. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Far East District renovated the barracks to be used as a school.     Colonel Paul Owen assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, during a formal change of command ceremony on September 14, 2012. Colonel John R. Boulé, who commanded the district since July 2009, relinquished command during the event in the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House.
  • Lance Cpl. Adam Bautz, of Brocton, N.Y., a machine gunner with Charlie Co, BLT 1/2, participates in a community relations project during Exercise Image Nautilus 06 in Djibouti, Africa. The Marines of BLT 1/2 participated in the bi-lateral training Image Nautilus 06 this past week in the east African country of Djibouti.

    Colonel Paul Owen assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, during a formal change of command ceremony on September 14, 2012. Colonel John R. Boulé, who commanded the district since July 2009, relinquished command during the event in the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Colonel Owen graduated in 1990 from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
