LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    USACE People: Building strong through mentoring

    Brian Trzaska, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District civil engineer for special projects, is teaching, training, coaching, counseling and transferring knowledge to Marcelo Maier, a fellow district civil engineer and Trzaska's mentee.
  • DLNR Chairperson, William J. Aila, Jr. (right) and Lt. Col. Thomas D. Asbery, commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Honolulu District, today signed a $3 million cost-share agreement to develop a watershed plan to support the West Maui "Ridge to Reef" Initiative. The Initiative is one of the first efforts in the state to implement a comprehensive management strategy to address impacts to coral reefs across multiple watersheds. The watershed plan will be funded 75-percent by the Corps and 25-percent by DLNR.

    EAGLE class makes equestrian campground maintenance its mane project

    Granville, Tenn. (Sept. 11, 2012) – Upkeep of recreation areas, campgrounds and hiking trails often depends on volunteers who care deeply about the nation’s natural resources and want them to be there for their children and generations to come. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s EAGLE Class learned that important lesson of volunteerism today when they rolled up their sleeves and got their boots dirty at one of Cordell Hull Lake’s primitive horse trail campgrounds.

  • District contributes to "Feds Feed Families"

    The Rock Island District participated in the 2012 "Feds Feed Families" food drive in August. The Rock Island Arsenal and Soldiers from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command distributed collection cans, picked-up the donations and in total delivered more than 3,000 pounds of food to the River Bend Foodbank in Moline, Ill.
