    USACE Galveston District Teammate earns Modern-Day Technology recognition

    Franchelle Craft, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District Civil Engineer, was selected and recognized as a Modern-Day Technology Leader, an honor bestowed upon men and women who demonstrate outstanding performance in their fields, by the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Lockheed Martin Corporation and US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine.

    Center Hill Lake open house, power plant tours draw young, elderly visitors

    LANCASTER, Tenn. (July 21, 2012) – The first tours of the Center Hill Lake Power Plant since Sept. 11, 2001 drew the young and the elderly here today. Visitors ranged from an 83-year-old gentleman who worked on construction of the dam to a nine-year-old boy whose late great-grandfather’s property was reduced by approximately 100 acres, but who also worked on construction of the dam.
  • GERMANY — Alex Cansler, a rising U.S. Military Academy at West Point junior majoring in Civil Engineering, took part in the school's Academic Individual Advanced Development program working for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District this summer.

    USACE introduces cadets to European engineering

    United States Military Academy at West Point Cadets traveled to Europe this summer wearing construction boots rather than backpacks, ready to apply classroom lessons to real work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District.

The San Clemente Shoreline Feasibility Study in particular has gotten him some well deserved recognition as the South Pacific Division Regional Planner of the Year 2012.

    District economist represents region in Planning Excellence award

    Joe Lamb is the Los Angeles District's technical specialist for coastal storm risk management economics, and serves as the lead economist for the largest and most complex study. The San Clemente Shoreline Feasibility Study in particular has gotten him some well deserved recognition as the South Pacific Division Regional Planner of the Year 2012.

Guttormsen leaves to become the Division Engineer for the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Asbery most recently served as the Executive Officer to the Commanding General, Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky. Asbery deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also deployed to the Mississippi Coast in support of Hurricane Katrina disaster relief efforts in 2005 as a Forward Engineer Support Team leader.
