    Real estate plays important role in civil works and military projects

    More than a decade after leaving Jacksonville District as a realty specialist to assume an 18-month tour with the Installation Management Agency, Europe, Audrey Ormerod has come full circle, returning to the district as the Real Estate Division chief.

    Fifth graders learn economic value of Savannah harbor deepening

    To a room full of fifth graders, a one dollar bill gets attention. But the idea of turning that $1 into $5.50 thrills them! That's the benefit-to-cost ratio for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Savannah Harbor Expansion Project (SHEP)—a plan to deepen the Savannah River shipping channel from 42 feet to 47 feet to accommodate larger ships and increase shipping efficiencies.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, working with the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force (EITF), awarded Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) to a group of 22 qualified solar technology contractors. Solar energy, like the 55,263 square foot solar wall installed on the Defense Logistics Agency’s Eastern Distribution Center in New Cumberland, Pa., was the second of four technologies awarded under the $7 billion Renewable and Alternative Energy Power Production for DOD Installations MATOC.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, working with the Army Energy Initiatives Task Force (EITF), awarded Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC) to a group of 22 qualified solar technology contractors. The contractors that are qualified through this process will be able to compete for future projects within their approved technology area for any renewable energy task order issued under the MATOC by the Army or Department of Defense (DoD).
