    Portland District dive office oversees critical inspections of Army piers in California

    The Portland District Office of Dive/ROV Operations and Safety led the Corps’ underwater execution of MOTCO’s pier inspections in California this summer.
  • District team earns national value engineering honors

    The district earned another national-level award for engineering earlier this summer at a summit in Arlington, Va. The value engineering team received the national award from the Society of American Value Engineers, or SAVE, International organization during the SAVE Value Summit June 26.
  • Hurricane Sandy Debris Removal Task Force receives United Nations’ 2013 Green Star Award

    The Interagency New York City Hurricane Sandy Debris Removal Task Force was awarded a Green Star Award, September 2, 2013, for its outstanding response efforts to Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in partnership with 24 other federal, state, and local agencies including Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the State of New York, and the City of New York, was an integral part of the Debris Removal Task Force.
