    The St. Stephen Powerhouse generates enough power to power 40,000 homes on the Santee Cooper power grid. Recently, the meter on the generators hit the 1,000,000 megawatt hours produced mark and rolled over back to zero. This is the sixth time this has happened in the history of the powerhouse.
