    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. May, 9, 2025- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District teamed up with the Jacksonville Jaguars to take on invasive species and plant dune vegetation near Hanna Park, as part of the Duval County Shore Protection Project.

    Rangers recognized for exceptional service at USACE Nashville District

    On May 5, 2025, six Nashville District park rangers with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were honored for exceptional service. Four received commander’s coins for achievements in water safety, mentorship, data reporting, and outreach. Two received Civilian Service Achievement Medals for over a decade of voluntary training in self-defense and visitor assistance. Leaders praised their dedication to public safety and natural resource stewardship across the district’s 284 recreation areas, which serve over 22.7 million visitors annually.

    Rachel Napolitan Named USACE Public Affairs Officer of the Year

    Rachel Napolitan, Chief of Public Affairs for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Far East District (USACE FED), was named the 2024 USACE Public Affairs Officer of the Year April 25, 2025. The award is the highest individual honor within the USACE Public Affairs Community of Practice.

    USACE Europe District takes fall safety seriously across the continent

    Falls continue to be the leading cause of death in the construction industry across both the United States and Europe. In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2023 falls from elevation represented nearly 40 percent of construction deaths in the United States and are a leading cause of construction deaths across Europe as well.
