    USACE team documenting Hurricane Helene flood data shifts focus to North Carolina

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 22, 2024) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers team documenting flood information in the wake of Hurricane Helene has culminated surveys in Tennessee and Virginia and has shifted its efforts to North Carolina.

    Civil engineer tackles lift station design, garners employee of the month

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2024) – Nate Brock, civil engineer in the Civil Site and Survey Section, and Geotechnics Branch, recently designed a wastewater lift station for the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project, a task that resulted in recognition as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for September 2024.

    Deputy Commanding General for Civil Works visits key Nashville District projects

    Maj. Gen.     When disaster strikes, the nation’s engineer, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) often receives a mission assignment from the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), activating the agency to begin planning and activating to provide disaster support, ranging from debris removal to roofing.
