    Technology Management Office: improving USACE partnerships through innovation

    Imagine if you were told that a new software platform could save you 40% of the time you currently spend on administrative tasks at work. What could you do with that extra time? That is the exciting question that many within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers might be asking themselves when a new construction management platform is released to the enterprise. The Technology Management Office, or TMO, a branch of the Construction Management Innovation Office within USACE Headquarters, is working hard to develop and deliver a new construction management platform. The new platform will be designed to foster a more efficient, collaborative working environment by streamlining and modernizing current construction management processes.

    Former co-op student now leads District’s current largest project

    Louisville, Ky. – With hard work and perseverance, anything is possible, just ask Tara O’Leary. Little did she know that when she started working for the Louisville District in 1996 that she would one day be leading the team on one of its mega-projects. O’Leary, who is now the Deputy Chief of the Veterans Affairs Division and Louisville VAMC project manager, started her journey with the district as a co-op student while attending the University of Louisville to study engineering.

    ERDC-CERL researchers find innovative ways to measure soil carbon

    Researchers at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) are collaborating with Carbon Asset Solutions (CAS), a company that holds the license to a newly developed U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) soil scanning technology, to directly measure soil carbon on 5,000 acres of Fort Riley training lands.

    Nashville District names Cox Employee of the Month for January 2023

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Mar.30, 2023) – Gregory Cox, work leader for Fort Loudoun and Melton Hill Locks, is named U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for January 2023. Cox is recognized for his involvement in the creation of a custom platform with steps for deckhands and the design of a customized safety compliant lock ladder for potential use on all Tennessee River locks lower guard and guide walls.
