    Memphis District Power Team deploys for Hurricane Dorian response

    Thirteen members of the Memphis District’s Power Planning and Response Team (PRT) deployed to South Carolina over the last few days to provide temporary emergency power in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.
  • Achievement Medal for Civilian Service

    Rowland earns Achievement Medal for Civilian Service

    Seth Rowland, a legal assistant summer hire, was awarded the Department of the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service just before returning to his studies at the University of Memphis School of Law. Rowland earned the medal for providing expert “legal computer engineering in supporting multiple takings lawsuits totaling over $1 billion in government exposure.”

  • Norfolk District to conduct mosquito treatment Sept. 9

    Weather permitting, the Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will conduct aerial mosquito treatment over the federal property of Craney Island, Virginia, Sept. 9.

    District preps for Dorian, stands ready to respond if commonwealth impacted

    In conjunction with Gov. Ralph Northam’s state of emergency declaration for Virginia yesterday, the Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) activated its Emergency Operations Center in Richmond to facilitate close coordination with state and federal agencies on pre- and post-storm activities.
