    Mosquito spraying scheduled for portions of Portsmouth tomorrow

    The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the city of Portsmouth, Virginia, will conduct joint aerial mosquito spraying tomorrow at federal properties on Craney Island, adjacent city properties and the Churchland area in Portsmouth.

    CELINA, Tenn. (June 10, 2017) – Kids caught plenty of fun today while corralling 2,000 nine-inch rainbow trout and 10 large display rainbow and brook trout released in the creek below the Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery during the 20th Annual Kids Fishing Rodeo.

    Good snowpack doesn’t ensure good water levels

    This past winter, Oregon received plenty of precipitation and snowpack was more than 170 percent of its average in some areas, according to the National Resources Conservation Service. Many people may believe this is cause for celebration in a state that has seen drought conditions during much of the past few years. And although it is good news, snowpack doesn’t mean Portland District’s reservoirs will be full throughout the summer.

  • Corps constructs artificial reef in Brevard County

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and its contractor, Shoreline Foundation, Inc., started constructing artificial mitigation reef mats for placement at ten nearshore sites from Satellite Beach to Indialantic in Brevard County. The first placement may occur as soon as next week east of Pelican Beach Park.
