    Corps protects town’s sanitary system

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is partnering with the Town of Worthington to reclaim an eroded bank along a 1,400-foot stretch of the West Fork River. The more than $880,000 project is designed to protect a sanitary sewer line that runs along the riverbank. The project is being funding in a 35-65 percent split between the City of Worthington and the district.

    Should I go with the flow?: New educational game simulates water management challenges

    It’s beginning to drizzle. Heavy rains are expected within the hour. The lake and rivers continue to rise. At what point would you open the gates and let water flow? That's the challenge presented in a new educational game produced by the State of Nevada Department of Water Resources in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District.

  • Lake Sonoma Boat-in Campsites Temporarily Closed

    All boat-in campsites at Lake Sonoma have been closed until at least May 1st because of fluctuating lake levels that could cause sanitary issues at campsite toilets.
  • During his visit to Huntsville Center Feb. 16, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Commander Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite presented Commander's Awards for Civilian Service to Access Control Point Program’s Heather Wilburn and Ron Brook on behalf of Col. Eugenia Guilmartin, Fort Bragg’s director of emergency services. The awards were for exceptionally meritorious achievement in support of access control point projects there.

    Huntsville Center project manager’s phone call enhances force protection, saves millions

    With a simple phone call, a U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville project manager prevented the loss of use of vital access control points for an extended period of time as well as potentially saving her customer millions of dollars.
  • The Materials Science Community of Practice Meeting brought researchers, external collaborators and extramural partners together to discuss current research and new capabilities. Researchers from the Engineer Research and Development Center’s seven laboratories participated in person and via web conference.
