    Ribbon cutting for Aravaipa Veteran Firefighting Crew

    Fort Huachuca, Arizona, is home to the Bureau of Land Management's Aravaipa Veteran Firefighting Crew. Through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Installation Support mission, BLM signed a long-term agreement with the garrison.
  • Bees wear their lifejackets too!

    Bees wear their lifejackets too! This swarm was located at the New Galena Boat Ramp at Alum Creek Lake. The bees swarm together to protect the queen bee and keep her warm as they build a nest for the season. If you locate a swarm in your area that poses a safety concern you can call your county extension or local bee keeping society to have it safely removed. Do not kill the bees as they are a great pollinator and an important part of our local agriculture
  • District Employees Participate in 2-Day Flood Fight Training Event

    With the snow melted and the spring rains filling up the rivers, 40 District employees attended a workshop to discuss proven flood fighting techniques and teach the newest team members.
  • District’s Emergency Management Branch earns accreditation

    The Mobile District’s Emergency Management Team is now accredited by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP). To date, only 12 districts out of 43 have been accredited, including the four districts that were accredited this week.
  • District Wins USACE Excellence in Contracting Award

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rock Island District’s contracting Division was awarded top honors by the USACE Excellence in Contracting Awards Program for fiscal year 2016. The District competed against seven other Districts throughout the country and earned the District/Center of the Year Award for outstanding efforts in meeting contracting milestones and metrics requirements.
