    Division commander visits North Dakota projects

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Mississippi Valley Division Commander Maj. Gen. Michael Wehr and St. Paul District Commander Col. Dan Koprowski visited the cities of Minot and Devils Lake, North Dakota, July 6-8, to meet with members of Congress, state and local officials and to see Corps projects in the region.

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers conducted limited engineering and operations tests on spillway gates at Hartwell and J. Strom Thurmond dams, Aug. 25 and 26, respectively.

    The end of an era was witnessed when the last boat, a recreation boater, locked through Upper St. Anthony Falls Lock and Dam in Minneapolis June 9 at 11:17 p.m.
  • 2015 Army Corps of Engineers Project Manager of the Year named, led expansive post-Sandy coastal flood risk study

    Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, U.S. Army, chief of engineers, presented Dave Robbins with the 2015 Project Manager of the Year award at the annual U.S. Army Corps of Engineers National Awards Ceremony, held in Washington, D.C. in August. Robbins works within the Planning Division at the Corps’s Baltimore District. He is a geographer by trade and was the project manager for the North Atlantic Coast Comprehensive Study, which was a massive, innovative interagency study that came to fruition as a result of Hurricane Sandy's devastating aftermath.
