    The Kino Environmental Restoration Project features a 2.2-mile paved path around the basin for walking, jogging, bicycling, and wildlife viewing. KERP and the Kino Sports Complex are also on "The Loop" with more than 100 miles of multi-use paths around Tucson.

    In 1966, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District constructed the Ajo Detention Basin where the present-day Kino Environmental Restoration Project lives.

    BOEBLINGEN, Germany – Garrison and education leaders, along with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District representatives and their German government design and construction partners, formally cut the ribbon on the new Stuttgart elementary and high schools during a ceremony Sept. 18 on Panzer Kaserne. The $98 million complex boasts a number of sustainability hallmarks and upgraded information technology throughout the buildings.

    Omaha District project manager, Steve Rothe, retires after nearly four decades of public service

    Omaha District project manager, Steve Rothe, retires after nearly four decades of public service. Over the past 36 years, Steve Rothe’s contribution to the Omaha District’s ecosystem restoration mission has been second to none. Drawing on his undergraduate and graduate-level education in Biology and experience as a Biology Teacher with the Peace Corps in Kenya, Steve launched his career with the Corps as an Environmental Resources Specialist in the Environmental Analysis Branch of the Omaha District’s Planning Division in 1979.
  • On August 6, 2015, Thomas North, Senior Structural Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Northwestern Division was awarded USACE Engineer of the Year. The award recognized his service for development of design/inspection and inventory expertise of USACE hydraulic steel structures and bridges, advising the nation of St. Lucia on bridge design and advising USAID on incorporating ASCE-7 seismic provisions for USAID Palestinian projects on the West Bank, Israel.

    On August 6, 2015, Thomas North, Senior Structural Engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Northwestern Division was awarded USACE Engineer of the Year.
