    Meeting informs public of actions to clean up formerly used defense site

    A public meeting Feb. 12 in Centreville, Mississippi, will provide interested individuals with information about a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers investigation for potential munitions at the former Camp Van Dorn, a 41,544-acre Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) located in Wilkinson and Amite counties, Mississippi.

    WIESBADEN, Germany — The Clay Kaserne Access Control Point is the first Department of Defense project worldwide to employ a new active vehicle barrier safety scheme, know as High Efficiency Presence Detection.

  • Last 2 Ebola treatment units completed

    U.S. and international agencies carrying out Operation United Assistance have wrapped up work on the final two of 10 Ebola treatment units in Liberia, a top engineer with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) said Jan. 23. Europe District’s Forward Engineer Support Team-Advanced played a part by providing technical expertise.

    San Luis Rey wetland mitigation bank breaks ground

    Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers participated in a groundbreaking ceremony Feb. 6 near Bonsall for San Luis Rey wetland mitigation bank, an effort that will eventually restore about 54 acres of native floodplain wetland habitat along the river.
