    Web conferencing brings Army engineers to DoDDS classroom

    WIESBADEN, Germany - A live video stream of eighth-grade physics students displayed on Jason Cade's computer screen. After a quick audio check, Cade, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District project manager and mining engineer, with the assistance of his colleagues, used face-to-face video conferencing to teach a lesson on roller coaster engineering to Wiesbaden Middle School students recently.

    Jan. 11, 2013, WASHINGTON, D.C.--ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL) Researcher Wayne Hodo and Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) Scientist Dr. Elaine Hulitt were recently selected as a Modern-Day Technology Leaders by the Council of Engineering Deans of the Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Lockheed Martin Corporation and US Black Engineer and Information Technology magazine.

    Jan. 11, 2013, Vicksburg, Miss.--ERDC Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory’s (GSL) Dr. Paul F. Mlakar was recently selected by the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES) as the 2013 recipient of the Norm Augustine Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Communication.

    Jan. 11, 2013, VICKSBURG, Miss.--Department of Defense’s (DOD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) employees located at ERDC’s Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) were recently selected to receive the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) 2012 Shahyar Pirzadeh Memorial Award for Outstanding Paper.
