    Port's dredged materials management method keeps economy afloat

    Summer has come and gone, but boaters are still making their way in and out of the Robbins Reef Yacht Club in New Jersey's Newark Bay within the Port of New York/New Jersey. "We saw a significant increase in boating activity this summer and it's continuing this fall and this is because our members are able to access us with ease," said Jim Hickey, Commodore of the Robbins Reef Yacht Club that's been in existence for over a century.

    ERDC STEM outreach program impacts students of all ages

    In 2010, Dr. Peggy Wright was appointed by Dr. Jeffery Holland, director of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), as the assistant director for Human Capital (HC), and was tasked with building and implementing an outstanding program for student outreach in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

    Mobile District has been recognized in the 2012 Chief of Engineers Awards of Excellence Program with its highest award – Chief of Engineers Award of Excellence – for the designing of the Tyndall Fitness Center at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla.

    Corps, Oklahoma Department of Transportation sign agreement

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation signed a memorandum of agreement on Friday, Oct. 19 at the Tulsa District headquarters. Under the memorandum the Corps will provide a dedicated project manager to oversee reviews of regulatory permit applications submitted by ODOT for transportation projects. This position will be funded by the state agency.
