    Alcorn State Partnership Reaffirmed

    Dr. Jeffery P. Holland, director of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), met with Dr. M. Christopher Brown II, president of Alcorn State University (ASU) April 17 to reaffirm the “Partnership in Education” relationship that has existed between the institutions since 2006.

    EL scientist briefs Passaic River cleanup and restoration groups

    ERDC Environmental Laboratory's (EL) Dr. Todd Bridges, the Army's senior research scientist for Environmental Science and the director, Center for Contaminated Sediments, was invited by the Passaic River's Cooperating Parties Group (CPG) to present an in-depth briefing on "Opportunities for Innovation in Contaminated Sediment Remediation" to more than 100 members of the CPG and the Environmental Protection Agency's Region 2 staff.
  • ERDC-GSL's Josh McCleave studies the Warren Central Intermediate School project he, along with his fellow judges, selected as "Best in Show" among the 181 entries in the annual fair.

    Team members encourage young scientists and engineers at fairs

    ERDC Vicksburg volunteer judges reviewed and scored more than 1,300 science experiments during January and February at local elementary school science fairs.

    Cold-weather, low-emission vinyl coating tested at Alaska training range

    A new type of vinyl coating system that can be applied in sub-freezing temperatures also complies with emission standards for volatile organic compounds (VOC). ERDC Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) demonstrated the coating on a bridge at Yukon Training Range, Alaska, and is continuing to monitor its performance.
