    New York District launches a new website

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, has launched a refreshed public website on a new, cloud-based system. The system, which is part of a Corps-wide website overhaul, is designed to improve communication with stakeholders by increasing transparency and delivering fast, accessible, relevant information to the public.
  • NORFOLK – Roughly 40 district employees received an inspiring performance from Kate Campbell Stevenson who brought to life the lives of Abigail Adams, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Alice Paul, and other women suffragists through costumes and music for the district’s Women’s Equality Day celebration held here August 22, 2012. Introduced into legislation in 1971, Women’s Equality Day celebrates the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, giving women the right to vote. The amendment was certified August 26, 1920.

    Quick thinking, experience, teamwork aid in rescue of two below Center Hill Dam

    LANCASTER, Tenn. -- Quick-thinking, experience and teamwork of individuals at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Center Hill Dam aided in the rescue of two people Aug. 16, 2012 after their boat capsized while fishing in turbulent tail waters during sluice gate releases.

  • Corps of Engineers water resources class learns from Trinity River watershed case studies in Dallas-Fort Worth

    Members’ of this year’s U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Planning Associates Program toured three Dallas-Fort Worth projects Aug. 23 during its weeklong session held in the Fort Worth District. The program offers an advanced training opportunity, for about a dozen competitively selected students from all over the Corps, on water resources planning.
