    Fort Worth District’s employee USACE Dam Safety Professional of the Year award

    Sarwenaj Ashraf, or Sarvi Ashraf as she is known in the Fort Worth District, has won the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Dam Safety Professional of the year award.

  • Natomas levee improvements hit high gear

    With the Sacramento River to its west, and the American River to the south, the Natomas Basin sits at the confluence of two major waterways. Streams, creeks and tributaries mark the northern and eastern boundary. Water surrounds the basin’s perimeter. Levees help keep flowing waters in their channels and out of growing neighborhoods, where approximately 100,000 people live, but a breach to any section of the 42 miles of levee surrounding Natomas could be catastrophic.

    Focus on TAM’s Logistics: Large staff element with varied, vital missions

    Logistics mission at the Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM), with offices throughout the Middle East including contingency locations, takes on a whole new level of complexity moving needed people, supplies, and facilities, into position to meet mission requirements both at the TAM headquarters in Winchester and throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.

  • Corps awards $569 million border barrier contract

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Pacific Border District awarded a $569 million contract modification April 11 to BFBC LLC, Bozeman, Montana, for 17.17 miles of border wall design-build construction in San Diego and El Centro, California.
