    Completed Below Island 9 Project to benefit navigation industry, public

    Congratulations to the Memphis District Below Island 9 Project Delivery Team for achieving total project completion on May 6, 2022. The project area, located in Lake County, Tennessee, was identified as a low water problem spot by local partners in the navigation industry. This area has been dredged by the Memphis District’s Dredge Hurley in 2020 and 2021, yet the problem spot persisted. To come up with a long term solve, a project delivery team came together to complete a dike construction project.

    Introducing Louisville District’s first ever River Ranger: Lisa Freeman

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District manages nine locks and dams: seven on the Ohio River and two on the Green River in Kentucky. The Ohio River projects operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, serving both the towing industry and recreational boaters. It is a known fact that USACE is the steward of the lands and waters located on its projects. The Corps’ guiding philosophy for natural resource management is to manage, conserve, and improve these natural resources that contribute to an increased quality of American life, now and for posterity. However, this it not only taking place at lake projects that provide recreational activities for the public, but also at the locks and dams.

    Transatlantic Expeditionary District celebrates first anniversary

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers newest district, the Transatlantic Division’s Expeditionary District, held its one-year anniversary at a celebratory event on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

    Nashville District bids farewell to its deputy commander

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 13, 2022) – Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District bid farewell to the deputy commander during a ceremony today at the district headquarters.

    Mobile LDP Visits Tyndall Area Office, Team Tyndall

    One of the goals of the Mobile District’s Leadership Development Program is to expose future leaders to different leadership styles and the importance of getting their people working as a team to accomplish tasks, and provide on-time, on-budget products to customers.
