    Corps joins Eastern Municipal Water District to reaffirm partnership, chart path forward

    A team with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District met with Eastern Municipal Water District officials July 7 at their facility in Perris to reaffirm their partnership and formally recognize the next phase of project implementation for the South Perris Desalination Program.
  • No Fail Mission: Military Corrections Complex undergoes renovations at Fort Leavenworth

    There is only one maximum security prison in the U.S. that houses male U.S. military members that have been convicted of crimes or violations under the Uniform Code of Justice. That prison is located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, and is known as the United States Disciplinary Barracks. The United States Disciplinary Barracks is part of a larger Military Corrections Complex located at Fort Leavenworth, which is comprised of the Joint Regional Correctional Facility and several support and administrative buildings. The United States Disciplinary Barracks is the facility which houses individuals sentenced to more than 10 years in prison, and the Joint Regional Correctional Facility is the facility which houses individuals sentenced to less than 10 years in prison.
  • JBLE Langley to conduct annual mosquito spraying mission

    The 757th Airlift Squadron assigned to Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, will conduct an aerial mosquito spray over Langley Air Force Base, Craney Island and the Churchland section of Portsmouth overnight Wednesday, July 26, 2023. In the event of weather or mechanical delays, the mission will take place on Thursday, July 27, 2023. Although no insecticide applications will occur outside the target areas of Langley Air Force Base and Craney Island/Churchland, the Pest Management department recommends that beekeepers adjacent to these areas cover their hives in the evening to help prevent any loss of bees.
  • Bluebird Boxes

    Kids at Lower Twin Campground built their own bluebird boxes and they did an excellent job!!!! This was a learning opportunity that continues when they hang their boxes and get to watch birds move in. Thank you, Ranger Autumn Elliott and Volunteers Scottie and Michelle Owens for making this event great for these kids
