LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Joseph D. Tober, a human resources specialist with the regional CPAC in Chicago, and Phyllis Williams, a human resources specialist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District, work on ideas for customer service improvement during a Customer Service Improvement Project and Supervisors Conference, Aug. 7, 2012. The conference was comprised of human resources personnel throughout the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio Rivers Division.

  • BRANSON, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineer's Table Rock Lake Dewey Short Visitor Center opened April 27, 2012. The Center has exhibits about the White River Watershed, local habitats, Table Rock Dam, and the US Army Corps of Engineers as well as several interactive exhibits including maps, power generation and water safety. It also features an overlook which allows visitors to view Table Rock Lake, the dam, and Lake Taneycomo from one viewing deck.

    When the new visitor center at Table Rock Lake in southwestern Missouri opened, it wasn't just another Corps of Engineers visitor center, but one that would have a significant, positive impact on the entire White River Watershed and the Ozark Mountain region in both Missouri and Arkansas.

    Work continues at Canton Dam

    When complete, the $209-million, multi-phase, dam safety project currently underway at Canton Lake will span over a decade of study, design, and construction. It is the second largest civil works project ever undertaken by Tulsa District. Its purpose is to construct an auxiliary, fuse-gated channel capable of passing the Probable Maximum Flood.

    Barkley hydropower rehabilitation gets a 270-ton lift

    KUTTAWA, Ky. (Aug. 16, 2012) – Work crews here at Barkley Power Plant removed a 270-ton rotor assembly today from a crippled hydropower unit damaged 18 months ago by an electrical fire. The heavy lift enables the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District to move forward with the generator’s rehabilitation.
  • The 12,500-square-foot Organizational Maintenance Shop will provide work bays and offices for several units. Solar tubes light the maintenance, office and common areas in the day time.
