    Initial Outfitting and Transition program equips Fort Hood hospital

    The Huntsville Center Initial Outfitting and Transition program played a major role in equipping the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Centerat Fort Hood, Texas. With the completion of the $90 million Fort Hood IO&T services and equipment procurement contract to Military Healthcare Outfitting and Transition (MilHOT) in 2012, the hospital opened April 3.

    Army Corps participates in "Easy as Pi" STEM event in downtown Baltimore

    More than 100 middle-school students from across Maryland learned about blocking cell phone signals, surveying downtown city streets, and using science to pinpoint the origins of an epidemic as part of some of the many activities at the annual “Easy as Pi” event hosted by the Baltimore Chapter of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Wednesday, March 30 in downtown Baltimore.
  • “I couldn’t justify buying a snowboard when I lived in Chicago – it was too far from good mountains,” says Kaitlyn Pascus, a regulatory project manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District. “Now, everyone at home is so jealous when I’m on Snapchat and they say: ‘Hey, weren’t you at that resort last weekend?’

    Kaitlyn Pascus wasn’t feeling a lot of love from her hometown of Chicago two years after graduating college. Looking for a fresh start and new adventures, she turned to the interwebs for potential landing spots. Sacramento and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seemed like an ideal destination.
  • This hangar, built for the 4th Infantry Division’s 4th Combat Aviation Brigade’s 404th Aviation Support Battalion, has been occupied since 2015, and was certified LEED Platinum in December. With the photo-voltaic array that complimented the construction, there was a 105 percent power-use reduction.

    With the surge of LEED-required construction, Fort Carson has one of the highest concentrations of LEED certified buildings in the country. The construction of LEED facilities is not a new concept at this installation. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District has built and LEED certified 82 buildings.
  • Soldiers sitting in the Waiting Room of The Bowe Troop Medical Clinic. This clinic provides primary care and medical readiness for soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division and Air force on Fort Drum. The clinic will provide better and faster service for our soldiers.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District recently completed the construction of two Soldier medical clinics on Fort Drum.
