    Maj. Gen. Yenter visited the Republic of Korea to view construction progress on the Korea Relocation Program and to participate in the Eighth Army rehearsal of concept (ROC) drill. The ROC drill will prepare units for moving out of Seoul and areas near the Demilitarized Zone and into the central hubs of Camp Humphreys and U.S. Army Garrison Daegu.

  • Root Cause Analysis training presented

    Root Cause Analysis training was presented to several different audiences of the Far East District one week in May 2016; an overview of what Root Cause Analysis is and how it can be used with one or more of several tools to solve problems most effectively.

    Sun shines on Redstone Arsenal energy savings

    Officials symbolically broke ground June 3 on a renewable energy solar project designed to bolster Redstone Arsenal’s energy security. The 10 megawatt solar power system, which will be located on approximately 66 acres off Redstone Road, is expected to be operational by December.
  • Soil is excavated and sifted for debris as part of cleanup efforts at 4825 Glenbrook Road in Washington, D.C., April 25, 2016. The home at 4825 Glenbrook Road was demolished in 2012 and crews removed soil and aspects of the home down to bedrock as part of a cleanup effort of the property, which was part of the former American University Experiment Station where the Army researched and tested chemical weapons during World War I.

    Corps finishes high probability operations 6 months ahead of schedule at 4825 Glenbrook Road

    The large tan tent at 4825 Glenbrook Road in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Washington D.C. will be coming down about six months ahead of schedule, signifying the end of high probability operations at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ cleanup site at this prestige property.
  • Ka Young Shim, an Architect in Engineering Division’s Design Branch, was recently selected as the Far East District’s “Emerging Leader.” The emerging leader program is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers initiative geared to develop employees’ leadership skills and future development. Here, Shim works with another FED employee at a STEM event, testing the load-bearing capacity of toothpick bridges designed and built by students at Seoul American Middle School.
