Morris Jr., Program Manager, Small Business and Deputy Chief, Program and Project Management Division receives Small Business Program Manager of the Year for 2015 award during Forth Worth District Engineer Day Annual Awards Ceremony, June 14 from Lt. Col. Clay Morgan deputy commander, Fort Worth District.

    Fort Worth District’s Morris Garners 2015 Small Business Annual Award

    The Small Business Program Manager of the Year award for 2015 was presented to Robert P. Morris Jr., Program Manager, Small Business and Deputy Chief, Program and Project Management Division, June 14, during the Fort Worth District Engineer Day Annual Awards Ceremony for his exceptional service. Morris was “surprised” at the recognition rarely awarded to non-Small Business Program Office members and said, “This is a team effort. While I meet with the company and small businesses, it’s up to the team in PPMD to actually get the job done.”
  • Lt. Col. Clay Morgan, deputy commander, Fort Worth District recognizes Jimmy Baggett, assistant chief, Engineering and Construction Division on 60 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

    At 81 years-old Fort Worth’s Jimmy Baggett shares 60 years of service with USACE

    In 1942, along with his family, seven year-old Jimmy D. Baggett left his hometown, near Vernon, Texas with a population of about 50 to the City of Fort Worth that boasted a population of close to 200,000. “My dad changed from being a gas station attendant for the 50 people in our township during early 1942 in order to work at the Bomber plant (in Fort Worth) which has been through several name changes to now being known as Lockheed Martin,” said Baggett, who was born on January 11, 1935.

  • New construction specifications created for Electronic Security Systems

    These guide specifications, pertain to Electronic Security Systems and Electronic Security System Acceptance Testing. The guidance includes the requirements security systems must meet and procedures on testing the systems once those requirements are met.
  • Airmen and Soldiers observe operations from range control facility June 8 during Red Flag-Alaska 16-2. A 9.5 million U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville Base Operations Program maintenance and operational services contract ensures facility maintenance support for Fort Wainwright garrison as well as structures located on the Donnelly and Yukon Training Areas and the Black Rapids Training Site. The Donnelly and Yukon Training Areas are part of the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex that provides a realistic training environment allowing U.S. and multi-national military unit personnel to train for full spectrum engagements.

    BASEOPS contract supports Fort Wainwright garrison, covers Alaska training ranges

    A $9.5 million U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville Base Operations Program (BASEOPS) maintenance and operational services contract calls for maintenance and operational services for all facilities and subsequent facility systems, components and equipment on Fort Wainwright, Alaska, as well as the 670,000 acre Donnelly and 260,000 acre Yukon Training Areas that are part of the 67, 000 square mile Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) .

    As a stand-alone software application, the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center's "Contingency Base Site Identification for the Tactical Environment" provides military planners with the ability to remotely sense potential CB site locations through weighted algorithms based upon military planning factors.
