    A temporary emergency power team tracks critical facilities awaiting assessments during a regional power mission exercise conducted July 20 at the Federal Emergency Management Agency Distribution Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The team replicated a temporary emergency power deployment in response to a simulated natural disaster. The three-day training and exercise tested the team's ability to execute temporary emergency power operations.

  • Hector Santiago, a project manager for the Environmental Remediation Branch, Planning, Programs and Project Management Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District, is a recipient of the 2016 STEM Hero Award. Santiago was recognized Oct. 6, by the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation during their 28th annual conference in Anaheim, Calif.

    Good people, meaningful work and balance in one’s life. That was the message senior Corps leadership gave to about 30 young engineers who attended the Corps seminar at the Hispanic Engineering National Achievement Awards Conference held here Oct. 6.

    Team has Eagle eye on floodplain project

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is working with an inter-agency team on a floodplain reclamation project in Walton, New York. This project will improve the floodplain, reduce flooding in the community and protect New York City’s drinking water.
