    Clearing the way for navigation at Elizabeth

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is prioritizing the opening of a 100-foot-wide navigation channel through the dam at Monongahela River Locks and Dam 3 near Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, by August 28.
  • Memphis District section chief named 2024 Geotechnics Professional of the Year

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Headquarters Engineering and Construction Division announced in June that Nicholas "Nikko" Aleman, the Geotechnical Section Chief for the Memphis District (MVM), is the recipient of this year's Timothy Skeen Geotechnics Professional of the Year award.
  • Legacy of love: How one man continues to volunteer in honor of his late wife

    Randy and Lisa Smith dedicated nearly two decades of their lives volunteering together with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, assisting rangers at campgrounds, lakes and day use areas. Their journey began in 2004 when they first volunteered with USACE at the Mill Creek Campground at Berlin Lake in Ohio. Their volunteer work continued with USACE, Savannah District at J. Strom Thurmond Lake in South Carolina.
