  • The U.S. Army team received this year’s Federal Energy Management Program Director’s Award for executing over $1 billion in performance contracts leading all federal agencies in the Presidents Performance Contracting Challenge of $4 billion by 2016 at the ceremony Dec. 7, 2016, in Washington, D.C.     USACE garners 2016 FEMP Award

    Leading the effort to save taxpayers’ money and contribute to energy and water efficiency, the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, was recently recognized alongside other members of the Army team with several 2016 Federal Energy and Water Management Awards.

The district recently named Bernard employee of the month for November for his initiative and ingenuity that resulted in a partnership with the Russell County Vocational School to build a new fee collection booth and 15 picnic tables for Kendall Campground below Wolf Creek Dam at Lake Cumberland.

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 5, 2017) – Tony Bernard, maintenance mechanic at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District’s Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Ky., is the employee of the month for November 2016.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is replacing more than two dozen water control structures, commonly known as “culverts” to reduce risk of failure of the 143-mile earthen dike that surrounds Lake Okeechobee in south Florida.

    Corps continues rehabilitation efforts at Herbert Hoover Dike

    As 2016 turns into 2017, staff at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District continue the monumental task of rehabilitating the Herbert Hoover Dike surrounding Lake Okeechobee in south Florida.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed repairs to the Cleveland Harbor East breakwater which was damaged by Hurricane Sandy. The project was one of nine structures scheduled for repair under supplemental Superstorm Sandy funds provided by Congress.

    Last round of Sandy-damaged breakwater repair projects come to an end

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has completed the last of nine structural repair projects related to damages caused by Hurricane Sandy. Among the most recently completed projects were repairs to breakwaters located in Cleveland Harbor, Fairport Harbor, Lorain Harbor, and the Port Clinton East jetty.
